About

Summer McKissick
Summer McKissick is an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in Obesity Medicine and Menopause Care. She combines her clinical expertise with a deep passion for helping women restore balance, confidence, and well-being through evidence-based, compassionate care. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Summer spent over six years as an ICU nurse in some of the most respected healthcare systems in Maryland, including Shock Trauma’s Multitrauma Critical Care Unit and The Johns Hopkins Medical Intensive Care Unit, as well as experience in cardiac telemetry, pre/post-operative, and OR care. Her dedication to wellness, prevention, and women’s health grew from years of seeing patients struggle with symptoms that were often dismissed — from hot flashes and sleep issues to weight changes and feeling “not like themselves.” This inspired her to pursue advanced training in Menopause and Hormone Therapy, alongside her Obesity Medicine Certification, to offer holistic, personalized support for midlife women. Beyond medicine, Summer is a lifelong advocate for health and fitness. She enjoys CrossFit, hiking, gardening, and traveling with her husband and two Australian Shepherds. Most mornings begin with her favorite ritual — the fresh smell of coffee and a hot caramel latte. Summer’s mission is simple yet powerful: To change how women experience midlife — by listening deeply, educating clearly, and empowering each woman to feel heard, supported, and confident in her care
