About

Marcy Meyer
I grew up in San Diego, California, and attended San Diego State University, earning my Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology, with a minor in Womenʻs Studies. Later, I earned my medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and continued my training at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. My interest in Womenʻs Health began before I even enrolled in Medical School, with my Womenʻs Studies minor. Although I considered specializing in OB/Gyn, I felt I could make the most impact on Womenʻs Health as a primary care physician. Unfortunately, just as I started my clinical education in medical school, the WHI was released, and everything Menopause became enshrined in a BIG BLACK BOX. It wasnʻt until my own perimenopause journey was complete, that I learned about 1) all the symptoms of perimenopause that I had experienced, but didnʻt know were due to the perimenopause transition, 2) the safety and efficacy of hormone therapy for the vast majority of women, and 3) the fact that many of the ailments my mom suffered through in her peri-/postmenopausal years (after the WHI), and that robbed her of any quality of life in her final years, could have been mitigated if her doctors knew what I know now. I am committed to ensuring that neither I, my daughter, nor any of my patients, suffer the way my mom did.
