I'm a double board certified family and psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. A few years ago I realized two things: most of my patients are women between 40 and 60 years of age, and most of them were dealing with spectrum of symptoms that simply couldn't "just" be part of aging or "just" attributable to a psychiatric diagnosis. Their bodies were changing, their brains were changing, and it seemed they and their care providers were at a loss as to how to help them. A mentor suggested I read "Estrogen Matters," and that's when my passion began for helping women navigate this transitional, often difficult, phase of life. I'm committed to helping my patients make the best, most informed decisions about their healthcare - this happens with me listening to my patients, determining their goals in care, and sharing my knowledge with them. I use all of these tools to provide compassionate, collaborative, evidence-based care.
