About

Kelly Baxter MD

Dr. Kelly Baxter is a board-certified family medicine physician and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP). She is passionate about improving health care for women before, during, and after the menopause transition, with a special commitment to expanding access to high-quality care in both rural and urban communities. While practicing primary care for the last six years, Dr. Baxter recognized the urgent need for clinicians trained in evidenced-based hormone therapy and the menopause transition. Together with her co-founder, Dr. Kelsey Sherman, she launched Ovella Health—a virtual clinic specializing in hormone therapy, sexual and vaginal health, and the prevention of brain, bone, heart, and other disease. Dr. Baxter earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency in Denver, Colorado. She is also certified in Integrative Medicine through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. Her interest in hormones and women’s health began during her undergraduate years, when she conducted research in reproductive neuroendocrinology at the University of Wyoming and in Scotland. When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Baxter enjoys outdoor sports, traveling, gardening, and raising dogs and chickens.
