About

Julie Murphy, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, MSCP
Double board-certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC) and Menopause Society Certified Provider, with 18 years of primary care experience caring for women. After struggling to get answers during my own perimenopause, I made it my mission to help others feel informed, supported, and empowered through their hormonal and mental health changes.. For the past 18 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I’ve worked in diverse settings—from an Allergy/Immunology clinic in New York City to a rural medical clinic serving a wide range of medical needs. I’ve seen firsthand how hormonal shifts influence everything from food sensitivities and histamine intolerance to weight gain, insulin resistance, and emerging mental health concerns. Over the last 8 years, I’ve focused on psychiatric care in New Mexico and New York, where I’ve witnessed how midlife stressors and hormonal changes deeply affect emotional well‑being. This work has strengthened my belief that physical and mental health are inseparable—especially during perimenopause, menopause, and andropause. My most recent professional passion has been advanced training in hormone therapy. After personally struggling to find informed, effective care during my own perimenopause journey, I became determined to fill the knowledge gap that so many patients encounter. That experience fuels my mission: to help women and men navigate midlife with clarity, confidence, and the right support. My schooling has included: BA Psychology: UC Santa Barbara BS Nursing/ RN: Columbia University School of Nursing 2003 Family Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of Columbia University School of Nursing 2008 Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of University Of New Mexico College of Nursing 2019
