About

Allyson Lenz MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Ally's path to women's hormone and weight care wasn't a straight line — it was built through years of education, clinical experience, and her own personal journey navigating a system that too often dismisses women's concerns. She began her education with a degree in Health Promotion and Health Education from Oklahoma State University, with an emphasis in community health. Driven by a deep commitment to patient care, she went on to earn both her BSN and MSN from Johns Hopkins University. Board certified through the ANCC as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2012, Ally has practiced across primary care, retail health, urgent care, employee health, and physiatry — specializing in spine and musculoskeletal conditions. It was through this work, and through her own health experiences, that she witnessed firsthand how profoundly hormones affect every system in the body. As both a provider and a patient who was repeatedly gaslit, she understood the gap intimately. Despite her extensive education, she recognized what wasn't being taught — and began dedicating herself to filling that gap. Not Like Our Mothers was born from that passion: to give women the personalized, evidence-based care they've always deserved.
